If Pasta (Carbs) Is So Bad – Why Do Italians Live So Long? Dr.Berg Investigates

Another great video from Doctor Eric Berg DC’s YouTube channel. In this video he looks into why the pasta might not be the real enemy in your quest to loose weight and keep fit. The following is a summary of the video but for bet results watch the video.

The Mediterranean diet is renowned for its health benefits, especially in Italy, where the people of Liguria and Sardinia have been proven to have the longest life expectancy in Europe. Not only do Italians live longer, but out of the over 1,000 people aged 105 and over, 951 of them are female. This is largely attributed to the presence of estrogen, which acts as an antioxidant to slow down free radical exposure and damage to the DNA and mitochondria.

On a recent trip to Italy, an interview was conducted with a woman from Sardinia to uncover the secrets of the Blue Zone and learn more about the food they eat. It was discovered that Italian pasta is much better in quality than its American counterpart, as it is not sprayed with glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup Ready). This means that Italian pasta is not only tastier, but also healthier.

The Mediterranean diet, which is popular in Italy, is based on the consumption of fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, whole grains, fish, and olive oil. This diet is rich in antioxidants and healthy fats, which are essential for good health. Additionally, it is low in saturated fats, cholesterol, and refined sugars, which can lead to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

Italians also enjoy a variety of other healthy foods, such as legumes, nuts, and seeds, which are high in fiber and protein. These foods are filling and help to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease.

The Italian lifestyle also plays a role in their longevity. Italians are known for their relaxed and social lifestyle, which includes taking time to enjoy meals with family and friends, as well as participating in regular physical activity, such as walking or biking. This helps to reduce stress and promote overall well being.

In conclusion, the people of Liguria and Sardinia have the longest life expectancy in Europe due to the combination of the Mediterranean diet, the lack of glyphosate in Italian pasta, and the relaxed lifestyle of the Italian people. This combination of factors has led to the longevity of the Italian people, and can be a model for other countries looking to improve their health.
